How to Use Black Pepper

I know, you thought this was about the shaker of black pepper in your kitchen didn’t you?

Well there is actually a Black Pepper essential oil. Now granted it can be used in place of the shaker but it also comes with a lot more uses beyond a little flavor to your dish.

Where does it come from

The Black Pepper essential oil from doTERRA comes from India. Once regarded as the spice kingdom of the world, the best black pepper still comes from this country.

Black pepper is actually a flowery vine plant that produces what we eventually call peppercorns. The peppercorns are harvested and dried to give us what we use in our flavoring. However, when you steam distill the peppercorns the essence of those peppercorns intensifies and becomes something we can use not only in cooking but medicinally and emotionally as well.

Top Uses

Seasoning and Flavoring

Black pepper essential oil can be used in lieu of the dried kind you have in your shaker or grinder. As with all essential oils, 1/2 to 1 drops will be more than enough to season and flavor any dish.

Constipation, Diarrhea, Gas, Bloating

Unpleasant I know but black pepper when taken in a veggie capsule or applied to the abdomen can relieve these symptoms and quickly.

Congestion, Respiratory and Lymphatic Drainage

Wen you are experiencing a great deal of drainage of mucus you can use black pepper to help by either taking a drop through a veggie capsule or diffusing the oil in a room.

Colds, Flu, Aches and Chills

Again, not a pleasant thing but black pepper can relieve these symptoms and bring relief. Apply a drop to the bottom of the feet and along the spine.

Cramps, Sprains and Muscle Spasams

Applying black pepper with a lotion or fractionated coconut oil to the area in pain can be soothing and relieving.

Smoking Cessation

Trying to kick the habit? Use black pepper under the tongue or diffuse it aromatically to ease cravings and the stress of not being able to smoke.

Blood Circulation

Applying black pepper to the bottom of your feet is incredible for improving blood circulation!

Emotional Support

When we feel repressed, constrained or things are not how we want them, black pepper can help by diffusing the oil or applying it to our feet. The oil will help us feel honest, open and able to receive information that can help us navigate our circumstances.

Blending

Black Pepper can be blended with Cardamon, Clove and Juniper Berry for a fun spicy scent.

Price Per Drop

For all of the benefits that can be derived from this spicy oil, at $0.25 per drop it is more economical than purchasing expensive peppercorns that are probably stale to use for your cooking seasoning.
